AGE ISSUES

Finally a big mystery has been solved. The other day I did what I seldom do-check my own profile on blogger.

Even though I have seen a lot of strange things on the net ,I was not prepared for what I got. In my age on the profile I was listed as 251 years old. Now first thing on my mind was that this is some joke because the server should see the age as invalid.

But I was in a hurry with no time to search around as to how to correct it, so I let it be. After all if I was 251 year old for some months ,I could probably be 251 years for some more weeks.

However being able to vaguely remember seeing my profile on some now lost date in the past ,I was curious as to when and how did I get such an unbelievable age.

So as the faithful engineering student I put it up on my list of things to do. And procrastination set in.
Finally the other day while I was tinkering around with the blog I decided to correct the error. First of all took me ages to find the correct location. Was wandering around blog settings while profile was a tiny link on the dash-board.

I had initially assumed that perhaps age was a fixed value in the profile but imagine my surprise when I found it was a derived attribute with Date of Birth as source. And ladies and gentlemen I had a d.o.b. of 1 JULY 1756.

Initially I was tempted to let it be. After all I was probably the oldest person in the history of mankind (humankind to be more politically correct) according to blogger and google. But then all those efforts for nothing would have been a waste, so tragically now I am again 21 years old.

On an autopsy of the problem I realized that most probably the error crept in when I switched to blogger beta and since I had never entered my date of birth it was automatically initialized to 1756. But I still think the server should have been intelligent. Anyway thats all for now.

MUSINGS: Disjointed Verses

MUSINGS

It’s the tragedy of our times. Being caught in helpless situations, helpless places. It’s a strange feeling to find oneself marooned in a city of people. Maybe there is an inherent contradiction here but I will let it pass.

One wakes up and Finds that his heart is empty. There is emptiness and desolation all around. He/she walk in the desert of life looking at every person around as if in a dream. The darkness around him which turns everything grey, threatens to totally drown him. Its hard to breathe but then life goes. A lifeless sun rises and sets culminating a lifeless day. Day after day after day.

But joy does return. Slowly but surely. And one survives.

We strive so hard to be free and yet the harder we try, the harder we are bound by hidden strings back to unknown things lingering about in our past. Because freedom itself could just be a hallucination. And we just might be too scared to admit the truth.

What can I say ? It seems as someone once said it we are all prisoners of our desires. And we remain prisoners however far and however hard we may run.

Disjointed Verses

Well whats in a name? Lot if you ask me. Just changed my blog to 'Disjointed Verses' from 'Splash of Life' .

Splash of Life was a name that belonged to another age. Could not simply pen anymore under it.

Disjointed verse is something that I identify more with it. 'Splash of life' is dead, Long live 'Disjointed Verses'.

Enjoy it.

A New Start-Once again

Ok I confess procrastination is one of my weaknesses and maybe this is why my blog is so less updated.

But now I intend to kick the habit.

At least I plan to.

So there would be more regular posts from now on.

Your Birthdate: August 14

People wouldn't take you for a passionate person - and that's where they'd be wrong.
You can develop deep emotions quickly, and you're the type most likely to move in with someone after a few dates.

Number of True Loves You'll Have: 6

Number of Times You'll Have Your Heart Broken: 3

You are most compatible with people born on the 5th, 14th, and 23rd of the month.
What Does Your Birth Date Mean For Your Love Life?

Now U could agree with everything but I dispute the figure about no. of times I will ahve my heart broken!!

Why??

Simple my heart has already been broken more

Interesting lines

"The love that lasts the longest is the love that is never returned"

"If my mind can conceive it and my heart can beleive it,I know I can acheive it"

Just loved the above lines especially the first one. Thought others ought to read it too.

Musings

Procrastination.. That's the word that defines me right now.

Seriously wanted to pen a new post yet never really sat down to do the thing

Well a new sem has started an infact a very busy sem to put it mildly.

Life goes on as usual.

In the oasis of life I wander around like a thirsty wanderer searching for a place to drink.

It is such a tragedy. We spend all our lives trying to get those who matter to us to accept and understand us yet we dont even know ourselves. It's a lonely life especially for the poet whose each moment needs an inspiration to survive.

And we spend our lives as zombies walking around stoned to the edge of insanity never really knowing what we want.

Yes that's us. We are made of so miserable stuff that I just can;t say anything

The Analysis Of a Down

Ok in my roll of achievements and firsts (sarcasm intended) another has been added. I have managed to get a prac down this semester.

The ignomity of the honour goes to hardware laboratory practical where today my program failed to run. It was a simple program but it blew up in my face. Tried and tried but the output never came.

Should have changed but the fact remains I thought I could do it. Guess I was wrong.

The tragedy is not that I have a down but the fact that a down seem to signify the steady degradation in me. Its not a blip but an event which just strengthens my fall into the abyss.

I can feel it and I have to arrest it coz this is not what I want.

The fall is best signified with what my teacher(also the internal examiner and one my favorite and most respected teachers(all are one person)) told me when I left the lab after the program failed to run despite the end of alloted time. Oza mam said and I shall never forget the words"Ashraf I feel like crying". This was my impression going down the drain. More than the down' it's Oza's mam words that trouble me pricking my conscience at every step. I hope it lasts fro a long time coz then I have hope.

Anyway guess its a sem wait to clear the prac. "My Bad"
